RESUMO<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

No Brasil, as queimadas est\u00e3o associadas \u00e0 expans\u00e3o agr\u00edcola e ao manejo de pastagens para a pecu\u00e1ria, desencadeando impactos socioambientais, mesmo em \u00e1reas naturais protegidas por leis. Este estudo avaliou a distribui\u00e7\u00e3o espa\u00e7o-temporal dos focos de calor detectados pelos produtos de anomalias termais\/fogo MOD14 e MYD14 derivados do sensor Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer<\/em> (MODIS) nas por\u00e7\u00f5es de Cerrado e Caatinga em Minas Gerais, entre os anos de 2005 e 2015. Os totais mensais foram avaliados, agrupados em uma grade regular de 0,25\u00ba e interpolados pelo m\u00e9todo Convolu\u00e7\u00e3o c\u00fabica, visando apresentar espacialmente as informa\u00e7\u00f5es pontuais de forma cont\u00ednua. Os resultados indicaram que a \u00e1rea de maior concentra\u00e7\u00e3o de focos est\u00e1 localizada na transi\u00e7\u00e3o dos biomas, regi\u00e3o repleta de Unidades de Conserva\u00e7\u00e3o. Houve maior incid\u00eancia em per\u00edodos secos (de maio at\u00e9 outubro), com varia\u00e7\u00e3o interanual gradativa dentro e fora das Unidades de Conserva\u00e7\u00e3o. Os resultados constituem uma prova de conceito de como \u00e9 poss\u00edvel utilizar dados gratuitos de sensoriamento remoto para fomentar o planejamento e a tomada de decis\u00e3o para antecipar a\u00e7\u00f5es de combate do fogo, bem como provocar pol\u00edticas p\u00fablicas para evitar desastres ambientais.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fire foci in the Cerrado and Caatinga of Minas Gerais identified by orbital sensor<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ABSTRACT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Brazil, fires are associated with agricultural expansion and the management of pastures for livestock, causing socio-environmental impacts, even in natural protected areas. This study evaluated the spatio-temporal distribution of the fire foci detected by the MOD14 and MYD14 thermal\/fire anomalies products derived from the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) sensor in the Cerrado and Caatinga of Minas Gerais, between the years 2005 and 2015. The monthly totals were evaluated, grouped in a regular 0.25\u00ba grid, and interpolated by the Cubic Convolution method, aiming to present spatially the point information in a continuous way. The results indicated that the area with the highest concentration of fire foci is located in the transition of the biomes, a region with several Conservation Units. There was a higher incidence in dry periods (from May to October), with gradual interannual variation inside and outside the Conservation Units. These results constitute a proof of concept of how it is possible to use free remote sensing data to foster the planning and decision-making to anticipate actions to fight the fire, as well as motivate public policies to avoid environmental disasters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
