Este artigo re\u00fane informa\u00e7\u00f5es, caracter\u00edsticas, fotos e dados de pesquisas cient\u00edficas sobre as \u00e1reas verdes do patrim\u00f4nio ambiental da Zona Oeste. A cidade do Rio de Janeiro \u00e9 dividida em \u00c1reas de Planejamento (AP). A AP-5 (Zona Oeste) \u00e9 a regi\u00e3o com maior concen-tra\u00e7\u00e3o populacional do Estado do Rio de Janeiro, com cerca de 50% de cobertura vegetal de bioma Mata Atl\u00e2ntica, com ecossistemas de floresta, restinga e manguezal; apresenta not\u00e1vel beleza c\u00eanica em um conjunto de fatores como maci\u00e7os, praias, cachoeiras e rios. A Zona Oeste foi cen\u00e1rio para eventos hist\u00f3ricos pr\u00e9-coloniais, coloniais at\u00e9 a urbaniza\u00e7\u00e3o e industrializa\u00e7\u00e3o que ocasionou altera\u00e7\u00e3o das \u00e1reas verdes. As \u00e1reas protegidas por lei ambiental na AP-5 s\u00e3o o Parque Estadual da Pedra Branca (PEPB), o Parque Estadual do Mendanha\/Gericin\u00f3 e Parque Natural Municipal do Mendanha, e \u00e1reas de restingas e manguezais que circundam a Ba\u00eda de Sepetiba e Marambaia, dentro da Reserva Biol\u00f3gica de Guaratiba (REBIO) e a RPPN (Reserva Particular do Patrim\u00f4nio Natural) Ana Gonzaga, al\u00e9m de \u00e1reas sobrepostas as citadas. A Floresta de Camboat\u00e1, em Deodoro, tamb\u00e9m foi considerada nesta exposi\u00e7\u00e3o. O objetivo deste trabalho foi fazer um levantamento e sintetizar as informa\u00e7\u00f5es sobre as \u00e1reas verdes da Zona Oeste a partir de dados bibliogr\u00e1ficos e viv\u00eancia in loco<\/em>, al\u00e9m de ilustrar com fotos as paisagens naturais. A proposta contribuiu para divulga\u00e7\u00e3o das \u00e1reas verdes da Zona Oeste, fomentando a import\u00e2ncia de conserva\u00e7\u00e3o ambiental.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Green areas in the West Zone of Rio de Janeiro: environmental heritage of the Atlantic Fo-rest<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A B S T R A C T<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This article gathers information, characteristics, photos and data from scientific research on the green areas of the environmental heritage of the West Zone. The city of Rio de Janeiro is divided into Planning Areas (AP). AP-5 (West Zone) is the region with the highest population concentration in the State of Rio de Janeiro, containing about 50% of vegetation cover of the Atlantic Forest biome, with forest, sandbank and mangrove ecosystems; presents remarkable scenic beauty in a set of factors such as massifs, beaches, waterfalls and rivers. West Zone was a backdrop for pre-colonial historical events, from colonial to urbanization and industrialization that caused changes in green areas. The areas protected by environmental law in AP-5 are the Pedra Branca State Park (Parque Estadual da Pedra Branca – PEPB), the Gericin\u00f3-Mendanha State Park (Parque Estadual Gericin\u00f3-Mendanha) and the Mendanha Municipal Natural Park (Parque Natural Municipal do Mendanha \u2013 PNM), and areas of sandbanks and mangroves that surround Sepetiba Bay and Marambaia, within the Guara-tiba Biological Reserve (Reserva Biol\u00f3gica de Guaratiba – REBIO) and the Private Reserve of Natural Heritage Ana Gonzaga (Reserva Particular do Patrim\u00f4nio Natural Ana Gonzaga), in addition to the areas mentioned above. The Camboat\u00e1 Forest, in Deodoro, was also considered in this exhibition. The objective of this work was to make a survey and synthesize the information about the green areas of the West Zone from bibliographic data and on-site experience, in addition to illustrating the natural landscapes with photos. The proposal contributed to the divulgation of green areas in the West Zone, promoting the importance of environmental conservation<\/p>\n\n\n\n
